Our Dallas, TX client is looking for an Assistant Controller:
Requirements:
BS in Accounting/Finance
Two to four years of experience in public/private accounting
CPA
Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Vlookups)
Quickbooks or other widely-used corporate Accounting software
Strong analytical skills
Experience working with law firms or intellectual property a plus
The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller and will co-ordinate bookkeeping procedures with a junior staff person.
Responsible for overseeing and developing accounting procedures, internal controls and maintenance of financial records
Prepares monthly and quarterly closing journal entries
Maintains fixed asset schedules and calculates depreciation and amortization
Prepares consolidated financial statements
Supervises or prepares monthly bank reconciliations
Assists junior staff with A/R and A/P process
Assists in the preparation of department budgets and forecasts
Substantiates and justifies expenditures and expense reports
Assures internal control compliance
Assist external auditors during the annual audit
Provide tax accountants with data to prepare federal and state tax returns
Works with the Office Manager to verify revenues and expenses to contractual obligations.
