Our Clarksville, TN client is in need of a Controller on a Direct Hire basis.

Job Summary:
The Controller will supervise all income and expenditures and keep track of all ingoing and outgoing cash flow for our Client.  This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely Client financial statements.  The Controller will also be responsible for accounting activities including general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation, and budget and forecast activities management.  The Controller will have contact with senior-level management and the firm’s executive management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Education and Experience:
CPA required
BA/BS in Accounting or Business degree with an emphasis in Accounting; a Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
Minimum 3-5 years experience with DCAA and/or Government Contracting required
10 +/- years total experience
8 years of experience with accounting systems and accounting policies and procedures
5 years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting position
Experience providing financial analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
7 years of budgeting and economic forecasting experience
7 years tax and year-end audit experience
7 years experience in financial reporting and general ledger
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems

Supervisory Responsibilities:
One of more Accounting direct reports

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Proficient in Deltek or other comparable accounting software and Microsoft Office (expert at excel).
Demonstrated ability to provide analytics regarding financial statements and company financial position.
Proficient in producing and analyzing all company financial statements, documents and projections.
Ability to benchmark to measure the performance of company operations.
Ability to produce short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets and product-line  profitability analysis.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to obtain a security clearance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the provision of information to DCAA Auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Issue timely and complete financial statements.
Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
Ensure that all accounts receivable are collected promptly
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
