Our Gilmer TX client is in need of a Cost Accountant for their manufacturing facility.

Summary:
Responsible for analyzing daily costing transactions, preparing and making General Ledger entries. Responsible for preparing internal reports regarding production, capacity and efficiencies; resolving variances (labor, purchase prices, bill of materials, freight, etc.); actively participates in improvement of procedures and processes; reviews excess and obsolete inventory and assists with the monthly close process and annual budget process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include the following:
Analyze daily costing transactions
Prepare and make General Ledger entries and analyze GL Periodically
Prepare internal reports regarding production, capacity and efficiencies
Resolve variances with labor, purchase prices, bill of materials, freight, etc.
Actively participate in improvement of procedures and processes
Review of excess and obsolete inventory
Assist with monthly close process and annual budget process
Maintain the accuracy of FIM tables
Responsible for account coding accuracy
Reconcile weekly (weekly close)
Responsible for identification, documentation, segregation, evaluation, and disposition of non-conforming products/services/systems
Responsible for performing in-house ISO audit functions.
All Department processes and procedures documented and the appropriate individual(s) trained and cross-trained as necessary
Responsible for adherence and knowledge of all ISO processes, procedures, flowcharts, and quality policy
Responsible for driving Self-Managed Performance (SMP) program through organization through self-motivation, initiative, and participation
Cross Training in other work centers as needed for the business

Education and Experience:
High School Graduate Mandatory
BS/BBA Degree in Accounting required
Current CPA license preferred
2 years plus experience in General Accounting functions preferred
2 years’ experience working in a product/manufacturing accounting environment preferred but not required
Experience working with standard cost systems a plus
Experience working with Fixed Asset Accounting Software (FAS) a plus
Experience with MRPII or similar systems a plus
Experience with project scheduling and budgeting
Experience analyzing information to provide clear and concise recommendations
Experience effectively working in a team environment and collaboration to work across teams where necessary
Must be willing to travel as required for the business
