Our Galleria area Houston, TX client is seeking an HR Payroll Coordinator.

Job Summary:
Accountable and responsible for providing support for the following areas: HRIS, payroll and benefits administration, recordkeeping, and HR administration.

Responsibilities:
Perform record keeping and payroll processing activities for hourly, salaried, full time and part time employees.
Maintain, check, and audit time and attendance records for compliance with established standards.
Review and ensure accuracy of all payroll input and output.
Enter new hires and process terminations in the payroll system.
Calculate pro-rated pay as necessary.
Post changes in pay, direct deposit, 401(k), and benefits.
Manage and calculate as necessary all garnishments, deductions and PTO accruals.
Import and export weekly files to update payroll and benefit records.
Submit 401(k) contributions.
Administer special payrolls including bonuses and year-end adjustment payrolls.
Track and process employee referral bonuses.
Maintain accurate payroll records including manual check log.
Create various payroll and management reports and materials for external and or internal audits.
Prepare and execute payroll tax activities including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns.
Process W-2s and other year-end Wage and Tax Reporting.
Research and resolve employee and manager questions related to payroll processing such PTO, banking, garnishments, retroactive pay calculations, tax and other changes.
Able to work with and understand financial information and data.
Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt
Maintain payroll procedural outline.
Manage vendor relationships.
Maintain working knowledge of current payroll related law and regulations.
Maintain key documents and data in Documentum.
Perform special projects as assigned.
Coordinate parking contract and cards, building access cards.
Maintain  event calendar including distribution of calendar invites to employees for corporate events, holidays, and reminders.
Maintain employee personnel, medical, EEO, and benefit files in accordance with record retention requirements.
Track and manage annual employee service awards on a quarterly basis.
Manage and maintain employee 60-second profiles.
Provide employment verifications including governmental inquiries.
Draft and coordinate new hire and termination paperwork and materials.
Assist with updating various communication sources such as the Business Portal, website and intranet.
Assist and support Human Capital Manager with audits, testing, reporting, and invoicing as needed.
Perform special projects as assigned

Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational training or business experience.
3-5 years of experience in corporate HR.
2-3 years payroll administration experience.
Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains payroll or similar preferred.
Intermediate level Excel skills.
FPCor CPP designation preferred.
Microsoft Office Suite experience.
Able to effectively interface with internal and external customers.
Able to handle confidential information with maximum discretion.
Able to understand business principles and apply them accordingly.
Able to work independently and on a team within a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate good judgment while managing projects, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines with a sense of urgency.
