Our Freeport, TX client is in need of a Sales Assistant for a Direct Hire opportunity.

Experience:
A minimum of two to four years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Accounting and SAP experience preferred.
Knowledge of the metals market and steel industry, along with knowledge of the oil and petrochemical refining industry and hazardous waste regulations preferred.
Bachelors degree preferred.

Tasks:
Contact existing customers to discuss their needs, and explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
Responsibilities will include analysis of raw materials procured, pricing, vendor negotiation, and managing the planning and procurement processes throughout the requirement.
Coordinate the processing of procurement documents.
Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
Prepare and maintain sales contracts for orders obtained.
Manage all records of customer interactions and transactions in a timely and courteous manner, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
Accurate and timely preparation of invoices and credit memos per contracted terms taking into account all information supporting financial transactions including receipt weights, analytical data and reference pricing.
Manage and maintain all receipt transactions and other data in plant’s ERP system.
Interface with Valdi for shipments and accuracy of billing.
As needed, travel to refinery sites to observe reactor dumping, sampling procedures, containerization of spent materials, vehicle loading and shipment to GCMC.
Must be able to timely follow up on procedures regarding notification process (in Canada mainly).
Work with existing procurement systems and ERP to generate material requisitions, and compose reports and briefs, work with outside vendors and manage relationships.
Update the receiving calendar on a daily basis with information from the team and customers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be computer literate with standard Microsoft Windows/Office Suite products and ERP software such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.; a demonstrated ability to build clear and concise reports and communication with these products is required.
Significant knowledge of Logistic Standards and EPA environmental requirements and/or processes is highly preferred.
Experience with Bill of Materials
Must be able to communicate effectively and manage expectations with internal and external client groups and vendors.
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and work as a member of an integrated team to reach common goals and meet program goals and deadlines.
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts for all related sales responsibilities.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Must use utmost discretion in all presentations, correspondence and communication with and for customers, staff and top management.
