Our client in Houston, TX is seeking a Sales Manager with Oil & Gas, OCTG, and/or Steel industry experience on a Direct Hire basis.

Company Information:
This is an opportunity to join an established company that serves the Oil & Gas industry supplying OCTG.  Rather than aiming to serve specific projects or shale plays, this company focuses on the needs of their distributors which allow them to be used in virtually every market.  They are also a member of the PRCI (Pipeline Research Council International Inc.) which sponsors research to improve pipeline performance.

Your role with the company:
The Sales Manager is a member of the executive team and reports directly to the CEO.  Short term responsibilities include working to increase the current customer base while managing and developing a 5 person sales department to meet monthly goals.  This includes managing the overall sales process, participating in developing and executing pricing policies and term conditions for clients, and oversight of marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, trade shows, etc.  In addition, this role will directly manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management of all other accounts.

In the long term, this role could grow into a VP-level position where responsibilities would include developing the sales organization further, creating new marketing activities to promote the company brand, and open new regional distribution.

Background profile:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Sales Management role
Exposure to Oil & Gas, OCTG, and/or the Steel industry is highly preferred
Consultative selling approach and ability to communicate effectively with executive level customers and partners
Expertise in structuring sales quotas and revenue expectations
Exposure to contracting, negotiation, and change management
